COD-Style Badges Are Here

42 achievements with rarity tiers, secret unlocks, legendary shimmer effects, and a full-screen COD-style unlock animation.

We wanted badges that feel like earning something. Not a notification you dismiss. An event.

The Unlock Animation

When you earn a badge in CryptoBlocks, the screen goes dark. A rarity-colored glow bursts from the center. Your badge bounces in with spring easing. “ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED” slides up. The rarity tag pulses with a glowing border.

It’s dramatic. It’s satisfying. It’s inspired by that feeling of hitting a prestige milestone in Call of Duty.

42 Achievements

Badges span four rarity tiers:

  • Common — things you’ll naturally hit: first run, Hello World, playing Snake
  • Rare — takes effort: polyglot (two languages), 50+ blocks, completing a Code Golf
  • Epic — real dedication: 100 runs, classifying an image with AI, connecting a micro:bit
  • Legendary — the flex: 1000 runs, 100+ blocks in one program, 30-day daily streak

Some badges are secret — they don’t appear in the badge showcase until you’ve earned them. You’ll see a locked silhouette with “???” where the name should be.

Badge Showcase

Open Stats (from the Menu dropdown) and click the Badges tab. You’ll see:

  • A progress bar showing X/42 unlocked
  • Rarity breakdown (how many legendary vs common you’ve earned)
  • A grid of all badges — unlocked ones glow with their rarity color, legendary badges get an animated gold shimmer
  • Locked badges appear greyed out and silhouetted

Server-Side Tracking

Your badges sync to the server when you’re signed in. Switch devices, sign in, and your badges follow you. The system is bidirectional — if you earned something offline, it syncs up next time you connect.

Leaderboard

The achievement leaderboard ranks users by a rarity-weighted score. A legendary badge is worth 25 points, an epic is worth 10, a rare is 3, and a common is 1. It’s not about grinding easy badges — it’s about hunting the hard ones.

Keep Exploring

Some of the best badges are hidden. We’re not going to tell you how to find them. But we will say this: curiosity is rewarded.
