This is the agreement between you and CryptoBlocks, Inc. ("CryptoBlocks," "we," "us") when you use our products. It is written to be readable. Every section opens with a plain-English summary in green. Read those first if nothing else.
/ 01 Who this agreement is with
You're agreeing with CryptoBlocks, Inc., a Delaware C-corp based in Oakland, California.
"CryptoBlocks" refers to CryptoBlocks, Inc. and our affiliates. "The Service" refers to our websites, the editor, Shareplace, classroom tools, mobile apps, and any related features. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
/ 02 Who can use CryptoBlocks
Anyone 13+ can sign up themselves. Under 13s need a parent or a verified classroom.
We welcome users of all ages. If you are under 13 in the United States (or under the equivalent local age of consent elsewhere), a parent, legal guardian, or a school must create your account through our Classroom or Family flow, which includes verifiable parental consent as required by COPPA.
- 13+ — sign up directly with an email or Google/GitHub.
- Under 13, at home — parent-created Family account with verified consent.
- Under 13, at school — teacher-created Classroom under school authorization (FERPA).
/ 03 Your account
Keep your password safe. Don't share your account. One account per person.
You're responsible for everything that happens on your account, so pick a strong password and don't share it. Let us know promptly at hello@getcryptoblocks.com if you think someone else has accessed your account. Usernames must not impersonate another person or organization.
/ 04 Your content & ours
You own what you make. You grant us a license to host and display it. We don't sell your work.
Your content belongs to you. Projects, blocks, sprites, levels, text, and anything else you upload or create remain yours. By publishing to Shareplace or sharing via a link, you grant CryptoBlocks a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely to operate and improve the Service.
If you mark a project Public, you also license other users to fork and remix it under the same terms. Remixes must preserve attribution.
Our content. The platform itself — code, UI, block designs, the logo, documentation — is owned by CryptoBlocks. You may use it to use the Service. You may not repackage it, scrape it for training data, or pass it off as your own.
/ 05 Shareplace rules
Don't post things that harm, harass, or break the law. We'll take them down if you do.
Shareplace is our public marketplace. When you publish there, your project is visible, forkable, and subject to moderation. You may not post content that:
- Is illegal, or helps others break the law
- Harasses, bullies, or targets a person or group
- Contains sexual content, graphic violence, or content harmful to minors
- Infringes someone else's copyright or trademark
- Contains malware, spyware, phishing, or unauthorized data collection
- Is spam, or attempts to manipulate likes, remixes, or leaderboard rankings
Moderation is a mix of automated and human review. Projects that violate these rules will be removed; repeated violations may result in account suspension.
/ 06 Acceptable use
Don't try to break CryptoBlocks, don't use it to break other things, and don't be a jerk.
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data
- Run denial-of-service attacks, spam, or automated abuse via the Service
- Scrape the Service at a rate that exceeds our public API limits
- Use the Service to train a machine-learning model on other users' content without consent
- Reverse-engineer any part of the Service that we distribute in compiled form
The editor exposes a terminal and other low-level tools. They are real. They are intentional. They run in a sandbox. Do not attempt to escape that sandbox. Report vulnerabilities to hello@getcryptoblocks.com — we run a bounty program.
/ 07 Classrooms & schools
Schools own their students' data. We act as a processor. FERPA & COPPA compliant.
When a teacher creates a Classroom, the school or district is the data controller for student records, and CryptoBlocks acts as a school official under FERPA and a service provider under applicable state laws. Teachers must have authority from their institution to create accounts for students.
Student accounts created via Classroom have analytics and social features restricted by default. Data-export, deletion, and retention are described in our School Data Addendum.
/ 08 Paid plans (Pro)
Pro is $10/month. You can cancel any time. Free stays free forever.
Free is free forever. All 320+ blocks, challenges, Shareplace, daily challenges, collaboration, and hardware are included.

You can cancel any time from Account → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Schools & public-school teachers get Pro features free. Contact us for a purchase order.
/ 09 Privacy & data
We don't sell your data. AI models run in your browser. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. In short: we collect what the Service needs to function, we don't sell data, and on-device AI features (webcam, speech) run client-side — that input never reaches our servers.
/ 10 Termination
You can delete your account any time. We can suspend accounts that break the rules.
You may close your account at any time from Account → Delete. We will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements. Public projects you've published remain unless you delete them first.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms, with notice where reasonable. In cases of immediate harm (e.g. child-safety violations, active attacks), we may act first and notify after.
/ 11 Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided as-is. We're not liable for damages beyond what we can control.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent allowed by law, CryptoBlocks' total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior, or $100, whichever is greater.
/ 12 Changes to these terms
We'll give you 30 days' notice before material changes.
We may update these Terms. For material changes — anything that reduces your rights or increases your obligations — we will email the address on file and post a banner in the editor at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
